Admission Requirements & Procedures

Admission Requirements

For its short-term competency courses, LIPA normally accepts participants who may be not university graduates, but who must have had considerable years of work experience in the related program area.

Unlike the short-term competency courses, LIPA’s long-term courses are well designed examinable courses for professional graduate students. Thus, to be admitted into any of the certificate courses, applicants must have attained a university degree or must have completed all academic requirements for the award of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Admission into diploma courses is based upon the completion of the required certificate course.

Admission Procedures

Registration to all LIPA’s courses begins with the filling and filing of an admission form, obtained from the Academic Registry of downloaded from the Institute’s website. Sponsoring organizations, whether public or private, are encouraged to make a request of nomination for their candidates, specifying the program area for each candidate.

To be qualified for admission into a long-term professional development course, a candidate’s application form must be accompanied by copy of university degree and/or academic transcript; two letters of recommendation; and two passport photos. In the case of admission into a short-term competency course, a candidate must submit, accompanied by the application form, proof of related work experience in addition satisfactory competing educational background.

Grading System

The grading system ranges from 0% to 100%. No person shall be qualified to receive the award of achievement (whether certificate or diploma) in any of the long-term professional development courses who has not obtained a minimum of 70% or “C” in the required course. The grading system is as follows:
