The Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA), on Friday, September 27, 2019 graduated and awarded certificates to 579 Participants who successfully completed their various courses of studies at the end of the Institute’s 2019 First Semester 1st and 2nd Quarters Training.

366 of the 579 Participants who received certificates were males constituting 63.2% while, 213 were Females constituting 36.9%.

Making a special remarks at the graduation ceremony LIPA’s Director General Professor Alex Yonly said, the Institute is proud to graduate Participants that have completed courses in various areas such as Public Procurement and Management, Human Resource Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Internal Audit and Control, Access to Information, Financial Management, Project Planning and Management, and Customer Service and Marketing amongst others.

Professor Yonly noted that since its establishment and operation, LIPA has made significant contributions and impacts on government institutions through training and Research Programs, adding that this is consistent with the goal of LIPA in building efficient and productive institutions.

“As our Strategic Plan reveals, decentralization of services is on track, LIPA Buchannan Branch remains a focal point for employees training and County development training hub; we are grateful to the USAID for a state of the art training facility in Margibi County which work is completed and we are now reaching out for assistance with equipment to be relocated in a possible short time. From our strategic front, we are also introducing the Executive Seminars through the e-learning platform which includes Leadership and Governance, Strategic Human Resources Management, and Labor Relations. There are plans underway to establish a local branch in Ganta Nimba County and subsequently the entire nation. Our continuous excellence in capacity development is significant to strengthen workforce development both in the Public and Private Sectors,” the Director General intimated.

He further explained that why preliminary discussion to visit LIPA’s mandate are ongoing, he said he hopes to institute the Executive Master’s Program which will serve as a growing students population and the need to strengthen organizations.

In her acknowledgement of the program a Participant of the Graduating class Yatta Makain on behalf of her colleagues thanked the hard working facilitators at LIPA for impacting knowledge into them.

Makain assured the facilitators that the sky will be their limit as they strive for excellence in their educational endeavor.

She also commended the LIPA Administration for its tireless effort ensuring that they get qualify facilitators at the Institute.

The Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA) was established by an Act of the Legislature in 1969. The Institute’s offers 14 certificate courses, 5 Diploma 10 Short- Term and Tailor made courses available upon request.
