Deputy Director General, Training » Hon. Amara M. Kamara

Hon. Amara M. Kamara is the Deputy Director General for Training and Manpower Development at the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA). He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics (BSc.) with emphasis in Management in 2012 from the University of Liberia with strong understanding in the application of both to confront with real world situation in addressing issues. From 2013 to 2016, he lectured economics at the University of Liberia as well as other high schools. He has worked with many institutions in Liberia to include: The National Elections Commission in 2005 & 2011 as Date Entry Clerk; Quality Control Division. In 2008, he worked with the Liberia Institute of Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) as Data Entry Clerk. From Aug. 2006 to Feb. 2008, he served as Executive Secretary for the United States Friendship for Economic Development (US-FED Group).

Currently, he is persuading his Master in Public Sector Administration at the Cuttington Graduate School. He obtained an International Certificate in Training of Trainers from the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) in 2018. Before joining LIPA Hon. Kamara has demonstrated both leadership and professional work related experiences in both public and private sector of the Liberia economy with proven excellent result up to date. For example, from 2012- 2018, he has served in both Administrative and Special Assistant capacity under Hon. Thomas P. Fallah, Representative of District Number Five (5), Montserrado County who is currently the Chairman on Ways, Means, Finance and Development Planning at the House of Representatives providing effective administrative diplomacy supports to the office. He also served as President for the Economics Students Association (ESA) at the University of Liberia from 2011 – 2012 at which time he provided scholarship opportunity for over sixty (60) of his colleagues.

Being so passionate of academic discussions, he established the “Dr. Romeo Horton Economics Lecture Series” to provide avenue for policy makers to articulate expert opinions on economic issues confronting Liberia and the rest of the world. Finally, the Hon. Deputy Director General is morally sound and is currently and actively performing his called to duty at the Liberia Institute of Public Administration, the Premier Center of Excellent in Capacity Building for Effective Service Delivery. He is highly admired by many of his colleagues based on his excellent conduct of his activities.
