MOT Staff Benefit From Performance Management Process Workshop

Monrovia, Liberia: About 10 Supervisors of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) are benefiting from a one-week Performance Management Process Workshop in Monrovia.  The training that is being conducted by LIPA runs from June 12-16, 2017. The exercise is intended to improve the over-all performance of Civil Servants at the Ministry of Transport. It also seeks to enhance the skills of MOT Supervisors and Human Resource Directors who have the sole responsibility of implementing the Performance Management System at the Transport Ministry.

The training further seeks to significantly contribute to the understanding of Participants’ role in the implementation of the PMS, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness when it comes to managing staff performance.

The Liberia Institute of Public Administration being clothed with the responsibility to build Public Sector capacity through in-service training, will apply the adult learning methodology to transfer the skills and knowledge that will enable Supervisors and Human Resource Directors and other HR practitioners at the Ministry of Transport to adequately entrench the  PMS.

Topics to be covered during the training include: Linkages between the National Development Plans; Strategic Plans and Work Plans, Overview of Concepts and Principles of Performance Management, Performance Management Tools and Techniques: Performance Planning- Setting Objectives and Indicators, Civil Service Performance Management Tools and Techniques-MID YEAR Planning and Review and Civil Service Performance Management Tools-Annual Appraisal among others.
