LIPA Awards Certificates to 34 Law Enforcement Officers

The Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA) on Friday, January 14, 2017 certificated 34 Law enforcement officers following the completion of a one week intensive training in Leadership and management.
The training which marks the first phase of a three week Leadership training is supported by the United Nations Police (UNPOL).

Law enforcement entities benefiting from the training include: The Liberia National Police (LNP), Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) and the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA).

The training among other things is highlighting applied leadership and advanced managerial skills needed for senior and middle level positions. About 100 middle level managers from the three law enforcement institutions are expected to benefit from the training which runs up to the 27 of January, 2017.

Speaking at the end of the first phase of the training, LIPA Deputy Director General for Research and Consultancy Mr. Charles Jarrett thanked the Participants for devoting their time to the exercise, which he said is geared towards improving their skills and competence. Mr. Jarrett told the Participants that in order for them to fully take over the country's security it is important that their skills and knowledge be enhanced.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner General for Administration at the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) Mr. Peter Zayzay admonished the Participants not to be involved in giving too many excuses but instead they should be able to deliver on the job. Mr. Zayzay reminded the Participants that the training was intended to help them take the initiative by driving growth in their respective institutions.

For his part, Mr. Charles Brooks, on behalf of the Participants thanked LIPA and UNPOL for the collaboration in conducting this important training exercise. He assured the organizers that the skills and knowledge acquired will be used effectively as they get back to their places of work.
