           BACKGROUND

 

Florence Geegbae-Dukuly is a 2011 Master of Public Policy from the Peking University in Beijing, P.R.C., a graduate student of the Graduate Program in Regional Science at the University of Liberia and a 1996 graduate of the University of Liberia with a BA in Sociology and English, and a Certificate in Basic Counseling and Psychotherapeutic skills training from LOIC. She has over eighteen (18) years of working experience exposure in various organizations and institutions and has worked as Program Director-LHRDI, Several Short-term Consultancies for World Bank, Capacity Development Coordinator-MOE/GPEBEP, Consultant – Liberia Crusaders for Peace, Mental Health & Adolescent Girls Program, Deputy Minister for Urban Affairs, Acting Deputy Minister for Operations,  and Acting Deputy and Assistant Minister for Administration respectively at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Program Assistant-World Bank Liberia Country Office, Cultural Assistant/Executive Secretary-United States Embassy, Human Resources and Administrative Officer-World Vision Liberia, Administrative Team Leader -Association of Evangelicals of Liberia, Psychosocial counselor- LOIC and Senior and Junior High English Instructor. She has handled diverse personalities from a cross-section of the Liberian Society and worldwide as she provides a wide range of social services, diplomatic, governance, development, systems and human resources development and management and administrative services for the above-mentioned organizations. Florence is fluent in both spoken and written English.

              SELECTED KEY RESPONSIBILITES

·         Define and establish participatory processes and systems leading to a capacity development strategy for the Ministry of Education;

·         Provided basic counseling to adolescent girls and youths addicted to narcotic drugs, etc. for Liberia Crusaders for Peace Mental Health Program;

·         Provided a wide range of administrative support for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) providing oversight of its financial, administrative and human resources management, organized resource mobilization efforts for the municipal and community-driven development and disaster risk management programs, managed the national fiscal and partner-support budgets and coordinated the management of land disputes and boundary harmonization issues emanating from the counties;

  • Tracked project steps and timetables, coordinated with education, health, agriculture and infrastructure development partners and government counterparts of World Bank  Liberia;
  • Co-ordinated and oversee the cultural exchange programs carried out by the Public Diplomacy Section of the United States Embassy-Monrovia;
  • Provided a wide range of human resource services for World Vision Liberia and supervised the administration of seventeen (17) clinics and the agricultural sector in Bomi, Capemount and Gbarpolu counties;

·         Provided basic counseling services to victims of social, natural and man-made disasters including civil crisis, and deviant behaviors, to enhance the development of their self-worth.

 

                                       OTHER EXPERIENCES

 

Florence has a Diploma in Computer Science, several Public Diplomacy and World Bank Program trainings, a Certificate of Achievement in Masters of Business Administration (AMA), Diploma in Basic Counseling and Psychotherapeutic Skills Training, a Certificate of Participation in Capacity Building in Organizational Development, Financial Management and Financial Sustainability, and several work-related trainings around Africa, Europe and the United States of America.

           CAREER EXPECTATION

 

Consequent of these skills, Florence has been empowered to work in different environments under difficult circumstances and is adaptable to new situations. With the experience that Florence has, she is looking forward to work in the areas of Social work, General Services and Administration, Human Resources Management and Systems Capacity Development, Economic and Development Planning and Public Diplomacy, Local Government Administration for any Government Institution, UN/INGO, International Entity anywhere in the world.
